يثاب المرء على استماع القرآن، ومن ازداد له استماعا ازداد منه نورا، قال الله: ﴿قد جاۤءكم من الله نور وكتـٰب مبین*یهدي به الله من اتَّبع رضو ٰنه سبل السَّلـٰم ويُخرجهم من الظُّلمـٰت إِلى النور بإِذنه﴾، ويُروى عن ابن عباسٍ: "من استمع آية من كتابِ الله؛ كانت له نورا يوم القيامة".
